Catholic Values Portfolio
Designed Specifically for Morally Responsible Investors
Portfolio Objective
Our Catholic Values Portfolios are designed for serious long-term investors who are pro-life and pro-family and looking for financially sound investments in mutual funds that do not violate the core teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
While the portfolios each possess their own investment objective, each portfolio seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing in the Ave Maria and DFA (Dimensional Fund Advisors) Social Core Equity families of no-load mutual funds. Furthermore, the portfolios may emphasize growth, value, income, or a combination of investing styles based on the Rich Investments, Inc. Asset Allocation Model.
Rich Investments, Inc. Catholic Values Portfolios take a pro-family approach to investing. The Ave Maria mutual funds use a proprietary screening process that examines corporate compliance with Catholic teaching regarding abortion, pornography, and policies that undermine family values. Underlying investments are made only in companies whose operations do not violate the core teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as determined by the Catholic Advisory Board. DFA (Dimensional Fund Advisors) Social Core Equity Portfolios employ an independent social screen vendor to identify stocks for exclusion on several social issues. Social screens include: Abortions, Abortive Agents, Contraceptives, Stem Cell Research, Adult Entertainment, Child Labor, Gambling, Landmines and Cluster Bombs, Republic of The Sudan, Tobacco and Alcohol, and Weapons.
